Welsh Country Magazine
My latest article in Welsh Country Magazine (September 2012 edition) is about the Battle of Pilleth which took place in 1402 near Knighton. It was Owain Glyndwr’s most famous victory over the English forces.
Book Signing

New Websites
With the help and direction of Dan Gladwin, my son in law, two new websites are being developed for my local history books. One is Bloody Welsh History – Swansea and the other is called Swansea Then and Now. The sites now exist. Over the next few weeks I shall have to add the content.

I now have a twitter account where I will post news from Swansea’s past. Did you know that in 1863 Sarah Young was imprisoned for a month following her 18th offence that August for drunkenness? No, I didn’t know that either. Look for GeoffBrookes@HistorySwansea Let me know what you think.

I was in Waterstone’s on Swansea signing copies of Bloody Welsh History – Swansea, the first signing for this title. I sold a few books and talked to some really interesting people. The staff in the bookshop were jolly and helpful in spite of the over-amplified street “entertainer” outside who assaults their eardrums most weekends!…

A new blog has been added!
I thought it was about time. I have added a new piece to the Blog. I have been busy researching for my next book – Murder and Crime in Swansea – and I keep coming across interesting and unusual stories so I thought that it was abou ttime that I started to collect them together. Eventually…

It looks as if the websites are finally taking shape. The Stories in Welsh Stone website has now been re presented as a Word Press site and the new sites to promote the two new books will soon be ready to be published. Both books – Bloody Welsh History – Swansea, and Swansea Then and Now…
