The Museum of Welsh Cricket

I had an excellent visit today to Sophia Gardens in Cardiff where I met Dr Andrew Hignell. He is the scorer and archivist of Glamorgan County Cricket Club and he is based in the excellent CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket at the Swalec Stadium. He very kindly offered me some resouces to illustrate my next book – Swansea in The Fifties – and I went to over to see what was there. There are some excellent pictures of the remarkable match with the touring South African side in 1951  – the St Helen’s crowd invaded the pitch when the Glamorgan side fashioned a seemingly impossible victory.

I am extremely grateful for the support I have received and will endeavour to write a chapter in the book which reflects the kindness of Dr Hignell and the club. Thank you
