Charlotte Wood

Those of you who have seen my pieces in Welsh Country Magazine will know that the artwork for them is provided by Charlotte Wood. She is an extremely talented artist and the illustrations that she provides add a huge amount to the overall effect of my stories. In fact often the pictures are better than the stories…

She has her own website where you can contact her. She does advertising, book covers, greetings cards, packaging and private commisssions. She says that she is very much influenced by the Impressionists and you can see that clearly. I have always been very impressed by her work. I am very pleased to be able to link to her website.

Welsh Country Magazine – January

I received my copy of the January 2013 edition of Welsh Country Magazine. It is edition 50 and another impressive publication. It contains some excellent art work from Charlotte Wood and Ditta Szalkai who have both supplied illustrations for my next book, Swansea Murders.

My piece is about Ernest Willows from Cardiff, aviation pioneer and celebrity, 1886 – 1926

Swansea Murder!

Submitted the text and the pictures for my next book to the publishers,  The History Press. It will be published in 2013. It is a catalogue of anger and derangement that starts in 1730 with the murder of the County Fiddler Morgan Matthews and ends with unsolved murder of Ernest Melville in 1949. The book will be fully illustrated and features excellent original art work from Charlotte Wood, Ditta Szalkai, Gill Figg and Angela Warne-Payne. Looking forward to seeing the final production!

If you would like any additional information about the book or the artists then please get in touch.

On the Radio

My books and I have had a good couple of days. I had a fine turn out for my latest talk in Swansea Civic Centre on Saturday afternoon. A good and appreciative audience and I managed to sell a few books. They were especially interested in the mug shots of nineteenth century petty criminals

Swansea Then and Now also proved popular, especially as Christmas approaches!

I am going into Swansea Sound for an interview on Tuesday 23 October 2012. I will be on air at 11.00 am apparently.

A couple more talks booked too. I can also tell you that the next volume about Swansea Murder will be enriched by a  fantastic illustration from Charlotte Wood which she has composed for me.  It is beautiful.
